Jinn are an established part of the Islamic Shi'i and Sunni religious and cultural heritage. However, their ontology, characteristics, and effects are much disputed. As highly mobile spiritual beings with the capacity of adapting various material forms and shapes, jinn unfold relevance in a myriad of settings and have evoked an enormous amount of research literature. However, they have hardly been studied in a systematic manner within a globalized world in relation to psychological and physical challenges during (forced) migration in Syria, Pakistan, Great Britain, Guantanamo, Egypt, and Europe. That is, what this edited volume with contribution from scholars from Saudi Arabia, Germany, Denmark, Spain and the US is about.
